The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning is the main authority of the Government responsible for preservation, protection,restoration and improvement of the qualityof the environment in the Republic of Macedonia.
The maintasks of the position State Counsellor for industrial pollution and risk management are related with the policy creation and development of strategies for such policy implementation.
The majorefforts are focused on the approximation of the national legislation in the field of integrated prevention pollution control (IPPC), industrial accidents, chemicals and monitoring with the EU Environmental acquits, as a part of the process of European integration. I am holding responsibility for monitoring and coordination of the studies, programmes and projects for remediation of the historical pollutions with hazardous chemicals so called “hotspots ” in North Macedonia. In the domain of my responsibility, I cooperate with otherdepartments within the ministry, prepare opinions on proposals submitted byother institutions, prepare information to the Government, etc. In addition, I am focal point of Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticide in the International Trade since 2011, focal point of the Convention on Transboundary Effects of Industria l accidents and focal point of Environment Task Force under Energy Community dealing with transposition and implementation of the provisions of the Large Combustion Plans (LCP) and other related Directives to the energy interest.
I am engaged as an expert in the Regional project on waste management, for implementation of the provisions of the Convention on Chemical,Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Weapon in the country.
In order to carry out all of its tasks successfully, I have attended training and capacity building within these regular activities.
