Highlights: The Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention met on 15 May 2024, back-to-back with meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention which was held on 16 May 2024 at the same venue. The Bureau discussed, among other things, the provisional agenda and preparations of the twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention in 2025. Bureau members not able to attend the meeting in-person participated through a secure online connection.
Meeting participants: Mr. Iftikhar-ul-Hassan Shah, President of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention, chaired the meeting, which was attended by the four Vice-Presidents and two ex-officio Bureau members, i.e. the Chair of the Chemical Review Committee, and Vice-chair of the Compliance Committee.

Next meeting: The bureaux of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions will meet on 5 and 6 November 2024 to discuss the organization of work of the meetings of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions taking place from 28 April to 9 May 2025 in Geneva.
