Information for Admission of Observers

The eleventh meeting of the Chemical Review Committee is open to:

• Parties to the Convention, which shall be treated as observers in accordance with the rules of procedure of the Conference of the Parties for the purpose of their participation in the committee; and  
• Observers, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Conference of the Parties. (Reference: paragraph 12 of the Terms of Reference of the Chemical Review Committee; Rule 7 of Rules of Procedure of the Conference of the Parties) 

To participate in the eleventh meeting of the Chemical Review Committee as observers:

• Parties to the Rotterdam Convention; United Nations and its specialized agencies; International Atomic Energy Agency; any State not Party to the Convention; or bodies or agencies that have already been admitted as observers to the Rotterdam Convention: 
  
  • Registration form for observers
  • Please send the completed registration form for observers by e-mail to stephanie.cadet@brsmeas.org;
    kei-ohno.woodall@brsmeas.org and an electronic file of a passport size photograph to Inma.RodaMartin@fao.org and Blanca.Garcia@fao.org before 28 August 2015.
• Bodies or agencies that have not previously attended a meeting of the Conferences of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention or its subsidiary bodies:
  
  • Application form for admission as an observer at meetings of the Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention
  • Please apply for observer status by filling in the application form and submit it to the Secretariat by email to brs@brsmeas.org before 21 August 2015.
  • The following information should be provided with the application form: 

1. Information describing the body or agency; 
2. Information on the affiliation of the body or agency with non-governmental organizations or institutions;
3. Information on the programmes and activities undertaken by the body or agency / its qualification in matters covered by the Rotterdam Convention;
4. Description of any network or membership system. 

Upon confirmation by the Secretariat that the requesting body or agency appears to meet the relevant criteria, please send the completed registration form for observers and electronic file of a passport size photograph to the Secretariat before 28 August 2015 by e-mail to the addresses indicated above.
