The Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals (IOMC) was established in 1995 to strengthen cooperation and increase coordination in the field of chemical safety.
IOMC serves as a coordinating mechanism facilitating action by its participating organizations (FAO, ILO, OECD, UNIDO, UNDP, UNEP, UNITAR, WHO and World Bank) on the issues related to the conventions and identifying potential needs, and also areas in which those organizations can be of assistance. Areas of cooperation between the Secretariat and IOMC are, among others: the IOMC Toolbox for Decision Making In Chemicals Management.
